Level 6 of the 7th CPC pay matrix starts at ₹35,400 basic pay. Typical posts at this level include primary teachers (PRT), station masters, inspectors (CBIC/CBDT), head clerks and junior engineers. At the consensus fitment factor of 1.92x, the new 8th CPC basic for a Level 6 employee at the entry cell works out to approximately ₹67,970 — before DA reset, HRA and allowances are added.
