New tax regime FY 2026-27
The new tax regime (default from FY 2023-24) has these slabs:
- 0-3L: 0%
- 3-7L: 5%
- 7-10L: 10%
- 10-12L: 15%
- 12-15L: 20%
- 15L+: 30%
Plus 4% cess. Section 87A rebate: if taxable income <= 7L, tax = 0.
How to reduce tax and increase net salary
- Section 80CCD(1B): Additional Rs 50,000 NPS deduction
- Section 80CCD(2): Employer NPS contribution up to 10% of basic
- Section 10(13A): HRA exemption (if you pay rent)
